Consortium
MOMENTplus is divided into three content-related subprojects and one subproject that handles overarching coordination tasks. The individual subprojects are in active exchange with each other in order to achieve the overall MOMENTplus goals. The consortium consists of experienced scientists from different research institutions in Germany, who complement each other methodically in their expertise on permafrost research:
Subproject 1: Process studies on greenhouse gas fluxes in a changing Arctic
Georg Guggenberger (Leibniz University Hannover), Subproject lead Patrick Liebmann (Leibniz University Hannover) Susanne Liebner (GFZ Helmholtz-Centre for Geoscience, Potsdam) Christian Knoblauch (University of Hamburg) Janet Rethemeyer (University of Cologne)Teilprojekt 2: Greenhouse gas monitoring and upscaling
- Lars Kutzbach (University of Hamburg), Subproject lead
- Torsten Sachs (GFZ Helmholtz-Centre for Geoscience, Potsdam)
Teilprojekt 3: Recent and future greenhouse gas balance
- Victor Brovkin (Max-Planck-Institute for Meteorology), Subproject lead
- Christian Beer (University of Hamburg)
- Mathias Goeckede (Max-Planck-Institute for Biogeochemistry)
Teilprojekt 4: Scientific and technical coordination
Christian Beer (University of Hamburg), Subproject lead
Scientific advisory board
MOMENTplus is actively supported by a scientifc advisory board, consisting of international experts, who represent the different methods and scales.
- Christina Biasi (Finnland, University of Eastern Finland)
- Eleanor Burke (UK, MetOffice)
- Patrick Crill (Schweden, Stockholm University)
- Bo Elberling (Denmark, University of Copenhagen)
External partners
- University of Copenhagen (Denmark), Management of the arctic research station
- Disko Arctic Research Station (Greenland), extensive research infrastructure (Laboratory and field equipment, freezing and storage capacities) on-site and accomodation for expedition participants.
